Dolores LaMattina (DeRuosi) life long resident of East Boston, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on February 10th at the age of 85.
Beloved wife of the late Salvatore LaMattina.
Devoted mother of Salvatore LaMattina and his wife Lisa of East Boston, Robert LaMattina of New Hampshire, David LaMattina of New Hampshire and John LaMattina of East Boston.
Dear sister of Mary Roach and the late Sue DiRosa and Joseph, Angelo, Richard, David, Salvatore, Anthony, Peter and Sylvester DeRuosi.
Cherished grandmother of Robert, Lauren, Liana, Domenic, Bella and Maximo.
Adored great-grandmother of Reggen.
Family and friends will honor Dolores’ life by gathering at Sacred Heart Church 45 Brooks St., East Boston on Thursday February 18th at 10:00AM for a funeral mass in celebration of Dolores’ life. Services will conclude with Dolores being laid to rest with her husband at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
Dolores was a long-time employee of the City of Boston, working the front desks of the Paris Street Gym and Pool for many years. She was adored by members and staff for her warmth, humor, and generosity. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and brought them together for Sunday dinner at her home every week. She was so proud of "her boys," and she shared that same pride with her grandchildren. She will be missed by all.
