Ligotti, Honorable Judge, John C. of Lynnfield, formerly of East Boston, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family by his bedside on Thursday morning June 29th, in his 102nd year.
Beloved husband of the late Rose M. (Cavaliere) Ligotti.
Devoted father of Maryann Ligotti of Boston, Donna M. Ligotti of Wakefield, and Ellen Quirk and husband Bill of N.H.
Dear brother of the late Joseph and Charles Ligotti, Mary DeRosa, and Beatrice Flister.
Cherished grandfather of Brian, Leah and Lauren Ligotti, Arianna, Kaitlyn and Courtney Quirk.
Also survived by his adored great-grandson Raphael Ligotti, and his many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor Judge Ligotti's life by gathering on Thursday July 6th in the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga Street (Orient Heights) East Boston from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon, followed by a procession to Our lady of the Assumption Church, Lynnfield for a funeral Mass in celebration of the Judge's life at 1:00 P.M. Services will conclude with Judge Ligotti being laid to rest with his beloved wife, Rose, in Forest Hills Cemetery, Lynnfield. May they both rest in peace.
John, was born in Boston on June 20, 1916 to the late Angelo and Ida (Zafarna) Ligotti. John is a past member of the Winthrop Golf Club and of East Boston Kiwanis. John is the former Court Magistrate, of over 15 years, for East Boston District Court. He then took Judgeship at Malden District Court for 12 years. The Honorable Judge Ligotti was set to retire, yet continued on for another 10 years as a Traveling Judge due to his love and devotion to the legal system. The Honorable Judge then entered into retirement, leaving his legacy of distinction and dignity within the Judicial System. May Judge John Ligotti rest in peace, the peace that he brought into every court room he walked into.
The Ligotti family would like to thank the nurse's that took care of there father with love and compassion during his illness Joanne, Cathy, Kristina, Ashley, Luanne, Angie and Shannon. They will never forget the peace that you gave to their father and them.
