Planning a Funeral

Planning a funeral can be a difficult task at a time when many people are grieving the loss of their loved one. We try to make the task as comfortable as possible and do not believe in discussing the arrangements from ‘opposite sides’ of a desk in an office-like environment. Instead we have a special conference room and do the necessary planning in an informal way, seated around a family dining room table.

Usually all legal documentation and arrangements can be completed at this single meeting. It is important that all family members can agree on the type of arrangements. It is of course very helpful if the loved one has left some instructions of their final wishes, or made their own pre-arrangements.

There are many decisions to be made in planning a funeral. Newspaper and complimentary internet notices, the style of casket or urn, where and when the wake and services will take place, burial or cremation arrangements, clergy or celebrant, to name just a few.

We can handle all of these for you along with such things as personalized prayer cards and thank you cards, floral tributes or charity donations, and complimentary transportation for family and friends to Visiting Hours. To make the decision process a little easier, adjoining the conference room is a private showroom where the family can take as much time as they need to make selections from a wide range of options and finishes.

Because this is the final tribute to your loved one we don’t believe selecting items out of a folder full of brochures. There is never any pressure to rush this most important planning. Throughout the memorial home there is several quiet and comfortable locations where you can discuss you thoughts in private.
