Woodside - Donald J. of East Boston, passed away on Saturday November 14th, 2009.
Beloved husband of over 49 years to Rose (Chiodi) Woodside.
Devoted father of Edward and his wife Denise of Saugus, Kevin (BPD) and his wife Julie of Winthrop, and Donna of Revere.
Dear brother of Robert of Buzzard Bay, Alan of Minnesota, and the late Edward.
Loving grandfather of his 5 cherished grandchildren, Joseph, Michael, Kevin, Lauren and Nicole.
Also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Ruggiero-Mazzarella Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga
Street, (Orient Heights) East Boston on Thursday November 19th, 2009 at
8:00am
followed by
a Funeral Mass celebrating Donald's life in the Sacred Heart Church, 45
Brooks Street, East Boston at 9:00am.
Visiting hours are on Wednesday November 18th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.
Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
Donald was born in Boston in 1933 to the late Edward and Josephine
(Parks) Woodside, and was a lifelong East Boston resident. He
served his country as a decorated veteran in the US Airforce. After his
discharge he worked as a crane operator for Bethlehem Steel Co. and in
1970 he was hired by the MBTA were he worked as an inspector for over 30
years. Donald passed away in the Whidden Memorial Hospital on Saturday
evening after a brief illness surrounded by his loving family. He was 75
years of age.
To honor Donald's memory, memorial donations may be made to Disabled
American Veterans (DAV), Attn: Gift Processing, PO Box 14301,
Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301. The Memorial Home is handicapped accessible and a
children痴 lounge is available. Courtesy valet parking at the front
entrance and ample attendant off street parking is also available in our
3 parking lots. For transportation to the memorial home please call

Services will conclude with Donald being laid to rest with his military
family in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
