Vitale - Anthony 'Tony' of East Boston, passed away on Tuesday August 4th, 2009.
Beloved husband of 44 years of Elizabeth "Betty" (DeLeo) Vitale.
Devoted father of Nancy Jean Parker of Derry, New Hampshire, Betty Ann
Vitale of Maynard, and Stephen Vitale and his wife Rachel of North
Reading.
Dear brother of Ann Guarino of Sandown New Hampshire, and the late Mary
Lombardo and Michael Vitale.
Adored grandfather of Benjamin, Johnny, Julia, Anthony and Christopher.
Also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Ruggiero-Mazzarella Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga
Street, (Orient Heights) East Boston on Friday August 7th, 2009 at 9:00am
followed by
a Funeral Mass celebrating Anthony's life in the Sacred Heart Church,
Brooks Street, East Boston at
10:00am.
Visiting hours are on Thursday August 6th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.
Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
Anthony, or 'Tony' as most people knew him, was born in Boston in 1933
to the late Joseph and Nicoletta (Maffeo) Vitale. He was a life-long
resident of East Boston and served his country as a US Army veteran of
the Korean Conflict. Tony worked for many years as a truck driver and
was a past member of the Knights of Columbus. Besides his loving family,
his next love was being a true blue Yankees fan. Tony passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family
at the Veterans Hospital in West Roxbury after a brief illness. He was
75 years of age.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Tony's honor to
the Sacred Heart Parish, 303 Paris Street, East Boston MA 02128.
The Memorial Home is handicapped accessible and a
children’s lounge is available. Courtesy valet parking at the front
entrance and ample attendant off street parking is also available in our
3 parking lots. For transportation to the memorial home please call
617-569-0990.
Services will conclude with Tony being laid to rest with military honors in the
Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
