IN LOVING MEMORY OF

George Theodore

  June 30, 1940 -

November 2, 2007

We sat beside your bedside,

Our hearts were crushed and sore;

We did our best to the end,

'Til we could do no more.

In tears we watched you sinking,

We watched you fade away;

And though our hearts

were breaking,

We knew you could not stay.

You left behind some aching hearts,

That loved you most sincere;

We never shall and never will

Forget you brother dear.

George was born in Boston in 1922, the second son of six children. He was highly intelligent, but as a youngster resented the structure and confinement of going to school. George was a life-long resident of East Boston of Greek and Italian descent, and was most proud of his Greek heritage. He was not a regular church goer, but lived religiously following the Greek Orthodox religion, reading the bible, praying and believing in God. George always wore a scully or baseball cap and enjoyed long walks, thoroughbred racing, going to the racetrack, reading and sports. He loved the sound of Tony Bennett who he often argued was the greatest singer in the world. George worked as a welder at the naval shipyards most of his adult life, and after semi-retirement was an attendant at the Boston Gardens. He lived simply, having all the necessities of life, but put on no airs. Having no children of his own, he was very devoted, loving, and close to his many nieces and nephews. George passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital after a brief illness. He was 67 years of age.

The Memorial Home is handicapped accessible and a children’s lounge is available. Courtesy valet parking at the front entrance and ample attendant off street parking is also available in our 3 parking lots. For transportation to the memorial home please call 617-569-0990.

Services will conclude with George being laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery in Elm Street, Everett.
