Grieci - Giovanni B. of East Boston, passed away on Friday October 28th, 2011.
Beloved husband of over 60 years to Pasqualina (Moscato) Grieci.
Devoted father of Connie Allen and her husband Butch of Wilmington, Emily DiMaggio of East Boston, Joanne DiRoberto and her late husband Robert, Anthony Grieci and Thomas Grieci, all of East Boston.
Cherished grandfather of five grandchildren, and great-grandfather of six adored great-grandchildren.
Also survived by his many fond nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Ruggiero-Mazzarella Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga Street, (Orient Heights) East Boston on Monday October 31st at 10:00am with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Giovanni's life in the Sacred Heart Church, 45 Brooks Street, East Boston at 11:00am.
Visiting hours are on Sunday October 30th from 2:00pm to 8:00pm.
Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
Giovanni was born in Italy in 1925 to the late Antonio and Concetta (Memmolo) Grieci. He came to the United States in 1952 and settled in East Boston were he lived the rest of his life. Giovanni worked for many years as a union laborer in the construction industry, always providing what ever was necessary for his beloved family. He passed away peacefully at 86 years of age, with the same dignity and respect that he lived his life, on Friday morning surrounded by his loving family. For his love and devotion to his family he will be greatly missed. May he now rest in peace.
Services will conclude with Giovanni being laid to rest in the mausoleum at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
