Alu - Carmella "Millie" of East Boston, formerly of Winthrop and Belmont, passed away suddenly on Monday June 14th, 2010.
Loving daughter of the late Michael and Catena (Buttiglieri) Alu.
Dear sister of the late Vincent Alu.
Cherished aunt of Michael Alu of Louisiana, Tina Alu of Cambridge, and the late Vinny Alu.
Beloved niece of Mary Briana and Sarah Buttiglieri, both of East Boston, and the late Filomena, Louis, Carmen and Rocco Buttiglieri, and Josie Boncore.
Also survived by her many fond cousins.
Funeral from the Ruggiero-Mazzarella Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga Street, (Orient Heights) East Boston on Friday June 18th at 10:00am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Millie's life in the Sacred Heart Church, 45 Brooks Street, East Boston at 11:00am. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
Visiting hours are on Thursday June 17th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.
Carmella, or 'Millie' as she was affectionately known to many, was born in Boston in 1929. She worked for many years in the Copy Imaging industry. Millie passed away peacefully on Monday morning in her home. She was 81 years of age.
The Memorial Home is handicapped accessible and a children’s lounge is available. Courtesy valet parking at the front entrance and ample attendant off street parking is also available in our 3 parking lots. For transportation to the memorial home please call 617-569-0990.
Services will conclude with Millie being laid to rest in The Alu Family Mausoleum in St Michael's Cemetery, Boston.
